Welcome to ParisAcumed Acupuncture

Pain and injury

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, our life force is

called “Qi”. More than 2000 acupuncture points on the body

are connected by meridians, or pathways, through which

energy travels. For optimal wellness, this energy that is

carried by our blood must be able to travel freely.

Any blockage of Qi or Blood pathways can cause swelling,

stiffness, soreness or pain. Emotions like anxiety,

depression or overthinking can consume the Qi (energy) of the

body and also damage the free flow of Qi and Blood and can be

responsible for many kinds of pain and tightness.

We address the underlying causes of pain using an integrated

whole –person approach (Holistic approach), not just isolated

symptoms.

In our individualized treatment sessions, depending on the patient’s

condition, we combine Laser Acupuncture, Laser (LLLT)/ Photo bio

modulation, needle acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, cupping, suggestions for supplements, lifestyle changes, stretching exercises and diet.

How many sessions and how long ?

Typically 5-20 treatments varying from 15- 60 minutes in

duration, depending on the patient`s age, overall health,

and exercise levels and also severity, chronicity, and

nature of the condition.

What about side effects ?

Worldwide research to date has failed to record any negative

effects from this process. There are no known side effects

from using LLLT and LA, although it is not uncommon to

get a temporary and short-term increase in pain and

discomfort when treating chronic conditions.

Low-Level Laser Therapy ( photobiomodulation) increases blood

circulation to an area that has had reduced circulation for years

and increased circulation causes the cells to dump toxins and

pain increases. It is a good sign and an indication of tissue

reactivity and precedes improvement.

Is Low-Level Laser Therapy FDA approved/ Canada approved?

Yes, LLLT is FDA approved and Health Canada approved. In 1998, Low-Level Laser Therapy was approved by USA FDA as a safe and without side effects method.

Electroacupuncture (EA)

EA is a form of acupuncture which a small electrical currents passed between pairs of needles. It is like someone sitting there tapping the needle constantly, stimulating it in a way that you cannot achieve with your hand. Mainly, it is used to treat acute and chronic pain, nerve damage and dysfunction, muscle atrophy, depressive mood disorders and chronic constipation. It can also release muscle knots, being helpful for athletes.

Mechanisms of EA

Low frequency EA is said to be associated to a greater output of endorphins - a natural analgesic produced by the brain- from the nervous system. These endorphins circulate in the bloodstream longer, providing an extended period of pain relief compared to acupuncture alone. In addition, it stimulates muscles to release tightness and nerves. By boosting the blood circulation and releasing essential substances, it promotes the delivery of nutrients to traumatized tissues, removes inflammation factors and helps healing.

Ear Acupuncture

The origins of ear acupuncture can be traced back

to 4th century BC. The basic idea of ear acupuncture

is that every part of the body has a corresponding

reflex point in the ear, which can be used both for

diagnosis and treatment. If something is out of

balance in the body, this will be reflected in the

particular part of the ear. The reflex point can be

sore or change in color. If exactly that point in the

ear is treated, the responding part of the body

reacts in a positive fashion. The ear's active points

may be linked to form the figure of a tiny human

being turned upside down. The theory was launched

by the French doctor Paul Naugier in the 1950s.

He discovered in some of his patients certain scars

at a specific site on the ear. The patients told him

that they had been treated for back pain by applying

a red-hot needle to this site of ear with hte result

that the pain disappeared.

In a recent study representative of many scientific investigations, David Alimi at the University of Paris

demonstrated by functional MRI that auricular reflex zones are directly connected to the corresponding brain areas. This connection is an impressive proof the neurobiological effect of ear acupuncture.

Ear acupuncture is a concept that embraces both diagnosis - examination of the ear to find 'active points', and treatment - the stimulation of these active points with acupuncture needles, semi permanent needles or laser pressure massage. Ear acupuncture cab be used in combination with body acupuncture, or as a separate treatment.

Cupping

Cupping is a method of relieving local congestion by applying

a partial vacuum that is created in a cup.

Benefits of cupping

  • It regulates the flow of blood and improve lymphatic drainage.

  • It eases scar tissues within muscles and connective tissues.

  • Cupping reduces swelling and muscle knots.

Methods

  • Stationary

  • Moving : Mostly applied on the upper back, lower back and shoulders.

Moxa

Moxibustion is a method of heating some acupuncture points by burning a herb named Mugwort that improves blood flow and nutrients the area.

Facial Rejuvenation

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is not just about beauty, but is about health.

Achieving a Healthy Glowing

Anti- ageing techniques have become popular among women looking for a youthful appearance. Aging and skin appearance is a reflection of internal health.

Facial rejuvenation acupuncture is a non- invasive technique to improve the look and texture facial skin and reduce wrinkles, while improving blood circulation through all organs in the body and face.

The treatment

Typically, treatment plans are often based on 10-12 sessions. At least 1 session per week is recommended, however, having 2 sessions per week for the first 2 weeks and then once a week seems to be more efficient.

Results can last years, but depending on the individual's previous condition and lifestyle, monthly or annual maintenance visits are recommended.

The most areas of improvement

  • Elimination of fine lines

  • Reduction of deeper lines

  • Increased facial muscle tone and texture

  • Decreased skin ageing of the face and neck

  • Glowing facial skin

  • Minimised acne scar

How does facial acupuncture work

The body interprets the insertion of the needles as a micro- trauma and positive injury, which in turn, through stimulation of fibroblasts, can activate the production of new collagen and elastin proteins.

All these factors need to be addressed as part of any anti- ageing protocol: diet, exercise, sleep, self facial massage, relief of stress and awareness of tensing certain facial muscles.

Our services for facial acupuncture

  • Face and neck needling

  • Face and neck cupping and guasha

  • Microneedling with hyaluronic acid

  • Laser acupuncture and rejuvenating laser therapy

  • Facial masks

Migraine

Migraine is manifesting as moderate to severe, pulsating sensation, throbbing pain and unilateral headache with recurring attacks. It can be aggravated by food, exercise, stress and even routine physical activity. It is often accomplished by nausea, vomiting and photo sensitivity. The pain may lasts hours to days.

There is scientific evidence that acupuncture play a crucial role in relieving migraine pain with very few adverse effects when performed by a trained acupuncturist. Basic science studies have shown the lowering blood pressure and improvements in brain function with this treatment. Recent evidence suggests at least six treatment session can be valuable for migraine.

Paediatrics

From Tots to Teens

Every treatment is customized to your child for that presentation. We do not have to use needles. We educate the parents and child on the benefits of Laser Acupuncture,

Cold Laser (LLLT)and pediatric tui na. Each session is a conversation between the child, practitioner and parent to help heal and balance that child`s needs.

Some of the pediatric complaints we treat include:

  • Bedwetting

  • Colic

  • Constipation

  • Migraine, headaches

  • Pain

  • Asthma and allergies

  • Acid reflux

  • ADHD

  • Anxiety

  • Cerebral palsy

Quit Smoking

There are numerous treatments available to

help stop smoking. Stimulation of acupoints

with low level laser can modify the symptoms

of withdrawal and increase the success

rate of quitting smoking in motivated person.

It is a painless and safe treatment for

reducing nicotine carving.

No pharmaceuticals and needles are used.

Then this treatment is non- invasive and

non- toxic. You will feel relaxed

and your desire to smoke will disappear.

Low energy

Low level laser therapy has various physiological effects, including improving blood flow, increasing cell metabolism,  advancing healing, anti- inflammation and stimulation of immune system. The cells can convert the light energy into a form of energy they use to trigger positive physiological responses. This can give a sense of well being.

Anxiety and Stress

Acupuncture  and Laser Therapy can trigger neurochemistry of body that are responsible for well being and feeling good. These neurochemicals promote a feeling of relaxation and stress reduction.
